As a family-owned company, we strive for outstanding quality and the highest sustainability standards, taking on both, ecological and social responsibility. This guiding principle has shaped our actions for over 60 years.

Climate action is most effective when it’s embedded in the entire value chain. That’s why we’ve made it an integral part of ours – measurable across all GHG scopes, managed in real time, and brought to life through the All‑Electric BABOR BEAUTY CLUSTER.

Christoph Vormstein, Head of Corporate Responsibility, BABOR

Climate

Commitment: Reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Our initial aim was to reduce our CO₂ emissions by 50 percent by 2025 (compared to 2019). This target was already achieved in 2024 with a reduction of 51.8 percent. We are now working on reducing our environmental footprint further, by at least 5 % each year until 2030

BABOR measures the corporate carbon footprint (Scope 1–3) since 2019 with a multi‑award‑winning, real‑time CO₂ dashboard. The company records data according to the latest scientific standards.

Babor’s 99,76 % fossil‑free operations and large‑scale renewable energy generation are examples of how operational changes directly support long‑term climate goals. Complementary initiatives, such as sustainable mobility programme, EV100 membership, and products life‑cycle assessments, anchor continuous emissions reductions across the value chain.

Nature

Commitment: Act for nature within operations,

through sustainable ingredient sourcing, and

downstream of operations

Protecting and regenerating nature is a core pillar of our Planet Strategy. BABOR is committed to acting for nature within operations, through ingredient sourcing, and downstream of operations. Our approach combines responsible resource use, waste management, biodiversity protection, and sustainable sourcing.

The company’s near-closed loop operations and target to achieve 95 percent recyclability for all finished products by 2030 further reduce the impact on natural water systems.

At Babor, we continuously monitor our environmental impact through Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) that evaluate not only CO₂ emissions but also effects such as soil acidification and eutrophication of water bodies. These assessments enable us to identify environmental risks and implement reduction measures across our entire value chain.

BABOR also supports biodiversity and ecosystem restoration projects, such as the BABOR Forest and BE(e) BABOR initiatives, which contribute directly to local habitat creation and pollinator protection.
