Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at ADA. Our purpose is to put beauty into travel, surprising our clients, with sustainable and unique products, allowing travelers to make “conscious choices – trip by trip”.
We are embedding responsible business conduct in our company and are working to assess risks throughout the entire value and supply chain. Circularity is at the center of our strategy.
Climate
Commitment: Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
ADA Cosmetics is already calculating its emissions linked to its Scope 1 & Scope 2 following the GHG protocol and is doing it on a yearly basis. We will continue to do so, also adding our Scope 3 emissions and setting science-based reduction targets. We commit to submit them to the SBTI by 2025.
Currently, our ambitious internal climate target is to reduce our total scope 1 and scope 2 emissions by 35% by the end of 2026 (compared to 2022). We aim to increase our current share of renewable energy by investing in solar panels in our production sites and switching our car fleet to renewable energy.
Packaging
Sustainable packaging is a central part of our strategy. We are integrating eco-design in each product development, prioritizing mono-material, making sure it is easily disassembled, light weighted and containing a high share of recycled content. Our ultimate goal is to reduce plastic consumption and making sure 100% of our offer is widely recyclable, following the circular economy.
Commitment: Increase recycled content and sustainably source wood-based packaging
We commit to reduce packaging and purchase paper and textile fibers only from responsible sources. Our goal is to increase the share of recycled content in all our paper-based material and switch all conventional paper-based purchases to recycled, responsible and certified paper by 2025.
Nature
Nature provides us with everything we need to live. We therefore do everything in our power to minimize our environmental impact, recirculate resources, and help safeguard our planet for future generations.
Commitment: Act for nature within operations
At ADA Cosmetics, we are tracking our water use and pollutant load from all our production sites as well as our contract manufacturing facilities.
Our Group´s production sites located in Germany and Czech Republic have achieved ISO 14001 and 9001 certifications for its environmental and quality management systems. We aim to set reduction targets for all identified facilities in high-risks areas and develop a water stewardship program by 2030.
Commitment: Act for nature through sustainable ingredient sourcing
By 2025, we will conduct an analysis of upstream nature-related risks to identify further risk critical ingredients (using the Cosmetics Europe Database).
Commitment: Acting for nature downstream of operations
By 2030, we will conduct an analysis of downstream risk at portfolio level using the Cosmetics Europe methodology.
