“Sustainable Development” for us means doing good and prosperous business, respecting the rights of the people involved in our value chains, the communities around us and protecting the Earth resources, thanks to which our business itself can stem. Driven by our will, people and brands, we strive for healthy and sustainable growth to guarantee the prosperity of current and future generations.

We are on a quest for a true balance between the community, our activities and the planet. We recognize that circularity is key for a strong sustainability performance as keeping materials and resources in circulation has a positive impact on greenhouse gas emissions, resource depletion and waste generation. Our Sustainability Plan is focused on Positive impact brands: our commitment is to design products and practices for positive change in the world today for a better tomorrow for generations to come.

Climate

Commitment: Reduce greenhouse gas emissions

We aim to reduce the level of greenhouse gases emissions in the atmosphere and do our best to protect the natural ecosystem we count on through regenerative and conservation activities.

By 2025, we are committed to reducing GHG emissions through:

– 20% reduction in CO2 emissions per ton of finished product compared to 2017 levels

– 100% renewable electric energy purchased (where it is feasible)

We are also committed to setting a robust Corporate Carbon Footprint and a clear decarbonization strategy by the end of 2023.

Packaging

In packaging design, we are guided by the principle of “doing more with less,” which means increasing efficiency in the use of raw materials to fuel a circular and sustainable economic model. To reduce the environmental impact of our packaging, we work on including 40% of recycled and/or bio-based content in plastic packs and designing 100% packaging to be either reusable, refillable or recyclable by 2025. We are also committed to achieving a more circular approach on packaging through the use of zero virgin plastic from fossil sources by 2035.

Commitment: Sustainably source wood-based packaging

By 2025, 100% of paper we use will be recycled or sustainably sourced.

Nature

We are committed to put in place responsible practices to preserve the oceans and land natural resources through reinforced stewardship actions. By 2025, 100% of our suncream products will be compliant with the Hawaiian Reef Bill, which outside of Hawaii serves for us as a voluntary scheme for the preservation of the coral reef ecosystems.

Commitment: Act for nature through sustainable ingredient sourcing

By 2025, 100% of palm oil derivatives in our products will be RSPO certified

By 2030, 50% ingredients in our personal care products will come from circular sources*.

Commitment: Act for nature within operations

By 2024, we will calculate our Corporate Water Footprint and define a new reduction strategy.

By 2025, we will reduce water consumption per ton of finished product by 20% vs 2017 levels.

By 2025, we will reach zero waste to landfill in our manufacturing sites (where technological systems are available).

Commitment : Act for nature downstream of the operations.

By 2035, 100% ingredients in our personal care products will be biodegradable.

*Ingredients from ”Circular Sources” can be e.g. renewable/biobased, recycled/regenerated/upcycled, coming from abundant minerals and biomass balance certified
